Chris May says:
The mix heard on “Lovelines” was actually REMIXED from the television version in ’89 (remember, the television mixes were originally in mono). It was remixed again in 1990 (possibly to be included on ‘FTT’?).

A couple of quick, and specific differences to listen for: First of all, the earlier mix is a little more ‘dry’, with more distinct stereo assignment of the strings; whereas the remix from ’90 has a bit more outboard effect/reverb on the overall mix, with the strings being opened up a bit. Another thing to listen for, right after Karen sings the title line in the chorus ‘When I Fall In Love’, you hear a sforzando-esque double clarinet fill. On the ’89 mix it is more ‘centered’. However the ’90 remix has it placed further to the right.

Also note that the bass track has been re-recorded, creating that bass/kick drum delay effect. Notice the bass track on the ’90 mix is punchier, and slightly behind the kick.
