Chris May says:
Regarding the SACD surround mix: The center channel isolates all of the Carpenters backing vocal harmonies, very tight, dry and clean (along with Karen’s lead/bass/drums of course). The children’s choir tracks are a bit more reverberated than in previous mixes, at least audibly speaking. Additional instrumentation from ’94 throughout.
*The karaoke version of “Sing” was first issued as an extra on a Japanese CD single in 2003 issued for “Top Of The World.” Both songs were presented on that single, followed by both in their karaoke versions. Two years later, the karaoke “Sing” was placed on the newly-issued Original Master Karaoke which was the bonus disc in the tenth anniversary issue of 22 HITS OF THE CARPENTERS .
